Yuna - “Fears and Frustrations” 

Have you checked out Yuna yet? If not, consider this a favor as I’m sure we’ll be hearing big things from her this year! I’m absolutely falling in love with this girl.

Yuna is from Malaysia and grew up in a Muslim household listening to No Doubt, Fiona Apple and The Cranberries. This song in particular reminds me of a mix between Psapp, Lykke Li and Regina Spektor. A healthy dose of girl power, indeed. Yuna’s voice is light and airy and flawlessly delivers her story through song. I find it comforting knowing I can relate to Yuna in this song, despite coming from a very difference place with a very different background. That’s the beauty of music. 

The Fader Label recently signed her and she’s getting ready to release her US debut EP Decorate on March 15th.
